Company History

MaxSea International, european developer and distributor of software for maritime markets, was founded in 1985 along with the sister company MapMedia, specialized in electronic charting. MaxSea International created the first marine navigation software for onboard PCs.

In 2008, the software has been completely reinvented using the latest technologies: MaxSea TimeZero was born. This groundbreaking technology called TimeZero brings to the navigation software a realism never before reached. MaxSea TimeZero has a new chart engine with unparalleled seamlessness and speed of zooming, where marine charts, 3D data and satellite photos are combined to provide you with the best maritime information.

MaxSea International, leading company in navigation software, continues to expand offering a wide range of products for both recreational and commercial sailors. With more than 40,000 installations, MaxSea is sold in more than 20 countries on the five continents.

In 2004, FURUNO ELECTRIC CO., LTD., and MaxSea International have decided to form a technical alliance to provide an ultimate solution to navigation data management system. The result of this innovative alliance is the development of MaxSea-NavNet software, which presents mutually complementary integration of NavNet and MaxSea software to offer a sophisticated navigation system.

The next step in this partnership has been the development of Furuno NavNet3D product range which includes TimeZero technology (www.navnet.com)

    What makes you think that Costa Concordia passed between the two small islands at Le Scole?? Only a lunatic would do that. According to most other sources he hit a rock at the reef east of the two small islands.

      We didn’t want to imply that the ship went through the two islands but we will update our screenshots to suit last sources. What we wanted to show was the shallowness of the area. Thank you for your comment!
